Embedding direct experience in applications and assessments – Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust case study

Six grantmakers volunteered to share their own ideas, efforts, and experiments in the hope that it might be helpful to others exploring how to be more open and trusting in their approach to applications and assessments.

When we compiled the learning from this research – for our ‘Let charities shine: Six principles for more open and trusting applications and assessments’ – we uncovered an emerging theme guiding two of the grantmakers (Comic Relief and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust) to be more open and trusting: they put lived experience at the heart of their grantmaking applications and assessments.

This case study is from Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust.
