Helen joined IVAR in July 2026 in a newly created role providing strategic leadership for the Open and Trusting programme. As the Open and Trusting community continues to grow, she works with colleagues to coordinate the programme and build on its success. Helen is also a trustee of the Environmental Funders Network.
Previous work:
Helen has worked in government, research and advocacy organisations, and grant-making foundations. Prior to joining IVAR she was Executive Director of The Roddick Foundation. Her earlier career includes roles as Programme Director at Cripplegate Foundation, and Programme Head at the New Economics Foundation.
Other interests:
Helen spends as much time as possible outside – camping, bird-listening/watching and walking. She also sneaks in as much time as possible for reading novels.
