Amrit Jangra

Intern

Amrit is passionate about research that is relational, non-linear and grounded in lived experience, and using these insights to create more equitable systems that better serve the people who rely on them. They are also currently working at The Advocacy Project, supporting vulnerable adults understand their rights and ensuring they have a voice in decision making regarding the social care and support they receive.

Previous experience:

Amrit holds an MA in Comparative Literature from University College London, where they explored fibre craft as an alternative mode of reading. They previously studied Psychology and Anthropology at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, where their research focused on crochet as a form of personal expression, knowledge production and gendered identity construction. They have also worked on research exploring gender and climate change language, and have experience in community-based cultural projects, accessible content creation and inclusion initiatives.

Other interests:

When not working, Amrit can be found reading, crocheting, daydreaming about crafting, or obsessively doing sudokus, especially when stressed.’
