IVAR is committed to supporting the development and sustainability of voluntary sector organisations through research, education and training.  We believe that these organisations have distinctive features and also need to be understood in the context of their policy environment.

We are dedicated to working collaboratively - with practitioners, policy makers, funders and researchers - to improve practice and to influence policy. We use action research methods in our work, publish articles and reports and run events to help share the findings of our work.
