Getting things done together: Key findings from the Partnership Improvement Programme
September 2010
research_report
This report summarises the 2010 evaluation of the Partnership Improvement Programme (PIP) and the influence it has had on cross-sector partnership working across five English regions. PIP was designed to improve cross-sector partnership working between local authorities, other statutory agencies – such as primary care trusts, police and fire – and local voluntary sector organisations. Between 2005 and 2010, we worked with colleagues in the voluntary and public sectors in 50 local authority areas to bring about practical and lasting improvements to the way they work together. This report outlines the findings from a survey evaluating the experiences of participants across 17 PIP areas. It also takes an in-depth look at the added value that PIP had in six local authority areas. Finally, the report examines some of the wider learning to emerge from the evaluation and some considerations for future partnership improvement work.
