Julia Kaufmann OBE

Julia has extensive experience of grant-making, programme evaluation, governance and capacity building. At IVAR she has conducted a number of strategic reviews of charities and has led on programme evaluations for grant-making foundations.

Previous work: Julia has been working as a facilitator/consultant in the voluntary sector for nearly 15 years, after three chief executive roles with BBC Children in Need, Gingerbread and the Centre for Social Education. She has been chair of trustees for a number of charities including Whizz Kids, Eaves and the National Toy Libraries Association. She also served a five year term as a part-time commissioner for Postcomm, the postal services regulator while also working part-time at Partners in Evaluation where she conducted a number of evaluations of local Sure Start schemes.

Other interests: Julia is also the Principal Adviser for the John Lyons Charity where she advises on policy and practice issues in addition to providing capacity building support for grantees.
