Commissioned by:

The Atlantic Philanthropies

The Atlantic Institute is the hub for the Atlantic Fellows program, a global initiative to empower and connect dynamic individuals committed to working together across disciplines and borders to advance fairer, healthier, more inclusive societies. The program supports growing communities of emerging leaders tackling critical 21st Century challenges related to race, health and economic equity. It was launched in 2016 and is funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies, a limited life foundation. IVAR is the evaluator and learning partner for the Atlantic Institute, supporting its role to amplify the impact of the network of Atlantic Fellows programms, and to help promote lifelong community amongst its Fellows.

Meet the first full cohort

Introducing the first Atlantic Fellows: activists, academics, artists, journalists, health professionals and policymakers collaborating across the globe to build a healthier, fairer world. The first 267 Fellows are now participating in seven programs operating across five continents.

“The Atlantic Fellows are energetic, diverse, international leaders who are acting on the world’s urgent needs and collaborating to build healthy and equitable societies. The Fellows’ work, individually and as a community, represents our highest aspirations for what our founder Chuck Feeney and The Atlantic Philanthropies set out to achieve over 35 years ago,” said Christopher G. Oechsli, president and CEO of The Atlantic Philanthropies.
