Mike is Head of Research at IVAR where he is responsible for the overall management of the research function. Since 2006 he has researched for and co-ordinated a range of IVAR projects. 

Mike holds an MA in Applied Social Policy from the University of Sussex and gained his PhD, for research into the values of third sector organisations, at the Open University where he maintains a visiting research fellowship. He has published book chapters, reports and journal articles on UK and European social enterprises. Previously he worked for 20 years in the sector with organisations such as Community Matters, Save the Children and the Development Trusts Association. Mike is leading IVAR's research projects on assets and advocacy.
