Celebrating 10 years of Collaborative working
Here at IVAR we've been considering collaboration in all its guises and the content of this newsletter certainly reflects that.
Our ongoing collaboration with Birkbeck continues in a very practical sense as we head towards the third in the 2010 series of seminars on Wednesday 10th March. For more details click below.

We've also been busy finalising some details of the Open Space event that was mentioned in February's newsletter. It is now confirmed for Wednesday 23rd June and will take place at the Wellcome Centre in London. We're all looking forward to meeting with old friends and colleagues and discussing the meta analysis that is currently being done internally here at IVAR.

Continuing the theme of collaboration we are currently preparing to launch the first in a new series of books - " Thinking about..."
The first in the series will look at mergers and will be available in the next few weeks. We have also been working with bassac on their Collaboration Benefits programme and findings from this work will also be available soon from our website.

And finally..
It's time to consider where we came from
Over the next three newsletters we will be featuring articles written by some key IVAR people reflecting on the last 10 years of collaborative working within the voluntary sector.
The first piece will be written by Margaret Harris - one of the original founders and current academic advisor to IVAR - who will be looking at the similarities between the growth and progress of IVAR and that of the voluntary sector groups we work with as well as pondering on research institutes and their place in the academic community.
We will then feature contributions from Julian Ashby - Chair of our Board of Trustees and Ben Cairns - original founder and current Director of IVAR.
