The Art of Influence

In partnership with IVAR, staff at the Community Development Foundation (CDF) have recently completed a pilot action research project with two groups of frontline community development workers in the public sector to help them more effectively exert internal influence. IVAR provided supervision and guidance to CDF staff, helping them to think through the different stages and dynamics of the action research process.

Capacity Building Roundtable, November 2009

On 12th November 2009, the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) and the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (CGAP) hosted a Capacity Building Roundtable. The aim of the event was to discuss ‘next steps for the funding and delivery of capacity building’.

The starting point for the event was a shared concern within both CGAP and IVAR about the concept and practice capacity building.
