Workshops on the impact and consequences of the public benefit requirement

What does the public benefit requirement mean for your charity or charities you advise? How has the renewed focus on public benefit affected charities? What are the consequences for the charity sector as a whole?

The Institute for Voluntary Action Research and Sheffield Hallam University are conducting a study of these issues, on behalf of the Charity Commission. The study findings will feed into the Commission’s ongoing policy work on the public benefit requirement. A copy of the final report will also be submitted to Lord Hodgson who is chairing the Review of the Charities Act 2006.

Join a group of charity trustees, senior officers and professional advisers at a workshop to share your experience of what the changes in the Charities Act 2006 actually mean in practice. If you feel you have something to share about public benefit then we would really value your input.

We are running three workshops: Sheffield (Tuesday 6 March); London (Monday 12 March); and Cardiff (Thursday 15 March). Workshops run from 2pm-4.30pm.

To book a place, email saima@ivar.org.uk stating which workshop you would like to attend. Space at each event is limited to 30 participants and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

If you cannot attend a workshop but have an opinion or experience you would like to share, please email leila@ivar.org.uk.

We would very much appreciate your attendance at a workshop and look forward to hearing your views.
